Message from BIAC President

ANA Cargo Inc.
Kenichi WAKIYA - President
Thank you for visiting the website of the Board of International Airfreight Carriers (BIAC).
BIAC was established with the aim of contributing to the air cargo transportation’s development as well as ensuring compliance with the antitrust laws and other relevant regulations. As of August 2026, the membership comprises 23 airlines engaged in international air cargo transport within Japan, all working together to resolve common issues or tackling for improvements.
In addition, based on collaboration and cooperation with the Japan Aircargo Forwarders Association (JAFA), an organization representing air cargo forwarders in Japan, joint study group focused on improvement of packaging and dangerous goods handling have been launched. Furthermore, research on safety and quality enhancement of air cargo transport through initiatives such as dangerous goods training or Narita Airport’s air cargo facilities inspection tours for the shippers are conducted.
Currently, the air cargo industry is amid significant change, driven by factors such as labor shortages, environmental issues, and digital transformation. While continuously maintaining the core activities to improve the air cargo transport’s safety and quality as the basis, by steadily advancing the digitalization of operations or implementing environmentally conscious initiatives, as outlined in the “Comprehensive Logistics Policy Guidelines (FY2026-2030), we are fully committed to further increase the value of air cargo transport and contribute to the industry’s development.
We sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation regarding BIAC's activities.
